social development for children and youth

This project is funded through the Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme through Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector and Ministry for Social Dialogue and Civil Liberties

Through this project, TWG upgraded the activities centre with a suitable restroom and kitchen. A small computer lab has also been installed. The organisation was also able to revamp the website to allow for better information dissemination and organization marketing. In addition to this, flyers and pens have been printed to enhance our marketing strategy.

These funds are also supporting our main project, it-Tokk, where we can carry out social sessions for children and youth. We currently have two running projects:

  • For children ages 5-9

Weekly sessions focusing on social skills through crafts, arts, drama, games, cooking sessions and outings. We delve into various topics such as hygiene, healthy eating, effective communication, and social issues such as fair trade and financial literacy. Through each session, the main aim is to allow the children to use their creativity and imagination to develop their social competences. We also provide literacy sessions with selected children.

  • For youth ages 10-16

This year we are focusing on providing the youth with fun and creative ways to promote a healthy lifestyle through cooking activities and physical/sports activities. We will also be conducting a short course on computer programming, to entice the youth to become more interested in this area.
